The National Executive Committee met in ordinary session in Bamenda from 18-22 November, 1994. It examined in the course of its debate, problems related to the functioning of the various organs of the Party as well as issues related to national and international political issues.

In relation to the functioning of Party organs, NEC decided:

  1. To split the Centre/South Province into two independent provinces of the Party after the Maroua convention.
  2. While continuing to examine the various petitions submitted to various organs of the Party and the National Chairman, acknowledges the election of Alhadji SANI as Chairman and Mrs. TCHAKOUNTIO Dolette as Secretary of the Provincial Executive Committee; the other members of the Provincial Executive remain unchanged.

In order to permit the reactivation of the Party in certain regions, NEC decided to reorganise in the nearest future, the Provincial Executive Committees in the Littoral, South West and West. NEC further decided to cancel the decision that put in place provisional executives in Victoria and Muyuka as well as rehabilitate Mr. S.N. TITA and Chief R.N. NAMME, illegally dismissed from the Party against the provisions of the Constitution and the instructions of the National Chairman.

NEC further discussed the preparation of Maroua convention as well as the execution of the first phase of the SDF Plan of Action.

NEC decided to intensify preparatory activities towards the Maroua convention inspite of the inappropriate political and economic environment; meantime, measures will be taken to mobilise all the structures of the Party towards the execution of the first phase of the Plan of Action.

On the national scene, NEC notes with pleasure, the mobilisation of the workers, especially the civil servants who are becoming more and more aware of the necessity for a determined struggle against a regime that has completely destroyed our country, aggravaed unemployment and lowered the standards of education.

NEC congratulates workers and their trade unions and encourages them to enter into joint action for the good of the people of Cameroon and the protection of our national heritage.

NEC draws the attention of the French government and the international community to the unacceptable behaviour of French diplomats in Cameroon who are criss-crossing Cameroon in a campaign to destabilise the SDF and to convince certain communities to hate our Party and its leaders. The SDF reminds the international community that this type of behaviour has contributed to the African tragedies, the most recent of which is the genocide in Rwanda.

Done in Bamenda, 22nd November, 1994.
